Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Maze, including our website, app experiences, account features, product extraction tools, item pages, public profiles, and related services.

1. Using Maze

Maze is a service operated by Maze Tech, Inc. ("Maze", "we", "us", or "our") that helps you organize, edit, and share a visual collection of things you own or are interested in. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Maze Tech, Inc. By accessing or using Maze, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Maze.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Maze, old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and old enough under your country's rules to use a service like Maze without a parent or guardian's permission. If you are not, you may use Maze only with their permission. You are responsible for your account and for all activity that happens through it.

2. Google and Email Access

Maze can connect to your Google account so we can scan Gmail for purchase confirmations, shipping receipts, and related order emails. Maze requests read-only access. Maze does not need permission to send email, delete email, edit drafts, or manage contacts.

When you connect Gmail, you authorize Maze to access and process email content and metadata that is reasonably needed to identify purchased products, including sender, subject, dates, item names, product links, and product images. You can disconnect Maze at any time from your Google account permissions or from controls we provide in the Service.

Maze's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Your Content and Public Profile

Your items, profile details, uploaded photos, edits, saved items, and other materials you provide or generate through Maze are your content. You give Maze permission to host, store, display, process, modify, and share your content as needed to operate and improve the Service.

Some parts of Maze are designed to be public. If you complete a public profile or share an item link, other people may be able to view the information and images shown there. You are responsible for choosing what to keep, edit, remove, or share.

4. AI, Product Data, and Enrichment

Maze uses automated systems and third-party services to extract products from emails, detect items in photos, search for product images and links, and generate or edit product visuals. These systems may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or produce results that do not match the exact product.

You should review items before relying on them. Product links, product availability, brands, categories, and images may change or be incorrect. Maze is not responsible for purchases or decisions you make based on generated or enriched information.

5. Manual Items, Uploads, and Photos

You may add items manually or upload photos for Maze to identify visible products. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, store, and use any content you provide.

Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, invasive of another person's privacy, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend access if we believe it violates these Terms or creates risk for Maze or others.

6. Third-Party Services and Links

Maze relies on third-party services, including Google, Apple, Convex, Vercel, fal.ai, Oxylabs, Resend, and product or shopping websites. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Maze may show links to stores, marketplaces, product pages, or other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their products, prices, availability, shipping, returns, content, or security. Maze has no affiliate programs today. If that changes, some links may become affiliate or referral links, and Maze may earn a commission if you click or buy through them.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Maze to break the law, violate anyone's rights, scrape or harvest data without permission, interfere with the Service, reverse engineer the Service, bypass security controls, send spam, impersonate others, or use Maze to build a competing service in a way that misuses Maze's systems or data.

You may not attempt to access another user's account, Gmail data, private content, or non-public systems.

8. Zero-Tolerance Policy for Objectionable Content

Maze has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This includes content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or that targets any person or group, as well as spam and impersonation. There is no place for it on Maze.

Every public profile and item has built-in controls to report objectionable content or an abusive user, and to block a user so that the two of you can no longer see or interact with each other. Reports go to a moderation queue that we review, and we commit to acting on reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior within 24 hours, by removing the content, removing the user, or both.

To report abuse or objectionable content, use the in-app report and block controls, or contact us directly at michaela@trymaze.app.

9. Ownership

Maze and its software, design, branding, technology, and other materials are owned by Maze or its licensors. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, we do not grant you ownership of Maze or its underlying technology.

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.

10. Changes, Suspension, and Termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of Maze at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk, or use Maze in a way that could harm the Service or others.

You may stop using Maze at any time. Some information may remain in backups, logs, or records where retention is reasonably necessary for security, legal, or operational reasons.

11. Disclaimers

Maze is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.

We do not guarantee that Maze will find every purchase, identify every product correctly, generate perfect images, keep every link current, or operate without interruption or error.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maze will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, service interruption, or purchase decisions made through third-party links.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maze's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid Maze in the three months before the claim or $100.

13. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting the updated Terms in the Service. Your continued use of Maze after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
